Thumbs is Here!

Today is the historic MAY DAY. Today is public holiday here. I thought it is same for every country. But yesterday I got an exception. One of my friends in Ireland told me that, 7th May is tribute as May Day there

At night, I was watching news on Channel I; one news strikes in my mind based on farmers’ rights, made by Shykh Siraj, one of the most renowned Bangladeshi, who always highlighted our farmers’ issues. “Hridoye Mati O Manush” [translate: my soil and people!! I hope it’s not that bad!] is one of his famous documentary programmed on the contemporary agro-economics and development.

Our country’s consistence GPD growth exits because of our workers. May Day is actually celebrated for them. But after watching today’s news on channel-I , I find out that 40% of our population is worker, 3 core, majority of which are farmers, garments’ workers, or the people who are doing different kind of jobs abroad and pulling our country to move forwards. And most of them didn’t know anything about this day; and they don’t even have any registered organization through which they can at least bargain for their rights. I really feel bad for this. They are the real hero behind our country’s progress. And they even don’t want much from life, but hardly have they got that.

3 days back, I was talking with a junior student of BBA in my university. She was upset cause, here hardly people trust each other[that was the first time I meet with her and we talked], for a while I was shocked. Most of the people, now a days, are very self centered.

Most of the people take any initiative only if they are benefited. We are only thinking for the short time, that we may pass through to live in our life. If, we just stop thinking for only ourselves, and take some initiatives for others, then only we can change us, can change our surroundings. If we start doing that then only we may get our dream land for which we always grudge! So, Thumbs is Here!
