OLD POEMS

The original bangla version of these poems were published in 1999 and 2000. Thanks to Meher Nigar MIM and Reema Akhter for their special contribution ......

" YOU"

In the dim moonlight, at midnight,

When suddenly the freezing dawn wind blows,

Or,

The transparent daylight of autumn,

When it touches you,

As if I wake up.

At that moment.

At the midst of this tiring life,

Something rose from the past, some lost memories,

Which makes some fleeting loneliness,

Which reminds me of You.

Then,

Opening the access of the desire heaven,

Then I come close to you, very close to you!

In your untamed hair,

In the blowing light wind,

In the sunshine,

While I surprise you,

Do you feel me, only me?

If you don't find me in your thoughts,

If you are missing me,

Then

Walk along the dew drenched field.

You will find me in each dew drop,

And I will find you too.

“EKUSHE”,

--in memories of 21 February, 1952

When,
Dawn breaks over the world,
that’s the time everyone knows
Ekushe has come.
Shaheed Minars are covered with flower petals,
To remember the occasion.
On this dusty path gathers
Hundreds of the young and old.

Again the shadow of sorrow instigates,
As the deep secret in one's heart is woken up again.
The silence awakens suddenly around.
And the scent of the blood of those Martyrs lingers in the air.
All life suddenly seems to stop,
In front of this monument.

In a short time everything around, loses its liveliness.
It becomes lonely, silent.

With a sad and broken heart, people standing …
Suddenly abandon their mundane lives
only for a single hour, on the specific day, for this gathering.
For an instant, this emotion is felt by the hearts of young people.

They urge to all the Martyrs,
To Wake up again,
To Wake up in their hearts.
