The Cow and the Pig!

There was once a man who was very rich and very miserly at the same time. The villagers disliked him intensely. One day he said to them, "Either you're jealous of me or you don't understand my love of money-God alone knows. But you dislike me; that much I know. When I die, I won't take anything with me. I will leave it all for others. I will make a will, and I will give everything to charity. Then everyone will be happy."

Even then people mocked and laughed at him. The rich man said to them, "What is the matter with you? Can't you wait a few years to see my money go to charity?"

The villagers didn't believe him. He said, "Do you think I'm immortal? I'll die like everyone else, and then my money will go to charities." He couldn't understand why they didn't believe him.

One day he went for a walk. All of a sudden it started raining heavily, so he took shelter under a tree. Under this tree he saw a pig and a cow. The pig and the cow entered into conversation, and the man overheard what they were saying.

The pig said to the cow, "How is it that everybody appreciates you and nobody appreciates me? When I die, I provide people with bacon, ham and sausage. People can also use my bristles. I give three or four things, whereas you give only one thing: milk. Why do people appreciate you all the time and not me?"

The cow said to the pig, "Look, I give them milk while I'm alive. They see that I am generous with what I have. But you don't give them anything while you're alive. Only after you're dead do you give ham, bacon and so forth. People don't believe in the future; they believe in the present. If you give while you are alive, people will appreciate you. It is quite simple."

From that moment on, the rich man gave all he had to the poor.

Whispers of the night

walking down the street
with an empty feeling
thoughts of you flood my mind
just as the heavens above opened up;

lost and looking for answers
dreams and hopes that was once
within reach, now seems
a million miles away;

sitting next to the rain splattered window,
watching the shadow of darkness slowly fade away,
the words to express my pain linger in the back of my mind
kept locked up within me, unable to escape the imaginary fence that i built around;

i cornered the fears that restrained my emotions,
bridging the distance between you and me,
i took a giant leap into the dream
that i wanted to become a reality;

gathering strength, i said the three words,
that had been waiting to explode from within me,
everything that i tried to hide from you for so long
finally tumbled out of the closet and into the open;

as the distant roar of the thunder
wakes me up from the passionate slumber,
i crawl closer trying to be next to you,
to hold you close,
and to hold you tight;

as the lovely night slowly
gives way to a beautiful morning,
still entwined in each other’s arms,
softly whispering to the special one,
who made a dream into a reality
i just realize that...

If You Forget Me

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

OLD POEMS

The original bangla version of these poems were published in 1999 and 2000. Thanks to Meher Nigar MIM and Reema Akhter for their special contribution ......

" YOU"

In the dim moonlight, at midnight,

When suddenly the freezing dawn wind blows,

Or,

The transparent daylight of autumn,

When it touches you,

As if I wake up.

At that moment.

At the midst of this tiring life,

Something rose from the past, some lost memories,

Which makes some fleeting loneliness,

Which reminds me of You.

Then,

Opening the access of the desire heaven,

Then I come close to you, very close to you!

In your untamed hair,

In the blowing light wind,

In the sunshine,

While I surprise you,

Do you feel me, only me?

If you don't find me in your thoughts,

If you are missing me,

Then

Walk along the dew drenched field.

You will find me in each dew drop,

And I will find you too.

“EKUSHE”,

--in memories of 21 February, 1952

When,
Dawn breaks over the world,
that’s the time everyone knows
Ekushe has come.
Shaheed Minars are covered with flower petals,
To remember the occasion.
On this dusty path gathers
Hundreds of the young and old.

Again the shadow of sorrow instigates,
As the deep secret in one's heart is woken up again.
The silence awakens suddenly around.
And the scent of the blood of those Martyrs lingers in the air.
All life suddenly seems to stop,
In front of this monument.

In a short time everything around, loses its liveliness.
It becomes lonely, silent.

With a sad and broken heart, people standing …
Suddenly abandon their mundane lives
only for a single hour, on the specific day, for this gathering.
For an instant, this emotion is felt by the hearts of young people.

They urge to all the Martyrs,
To Wake up again,
To Wake up in their hearts.

The Final Annalysis

this is one of ma recent reading.....I am now becoming a fan of Her

People are often unreasonable,illogical and
self centered...forgive them anyway!

If you are kind, people may accrue you of selfish,
ulterior motives.....be kind anyway!

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and
make some true enemies..succeed anyway!

If you are honest and frank, people may
cheat you...be honest and frank anyway!

What you spend years building, someone may
destroy overnight....go ahead and build it anyway!

If you find serenity and happiness, people may
be jealous....be happy anyway!

The good you do today, people will often
forget tomorrow..do good anyway!

Give the world the best you have, and even that may
never be enough......give it anyway!

You see in the final analysis, its all between you and God,
It was never between you and them anyway!!

Authenticity

I was reading the book "Daily Inspiration" by Robin Sharma...and lets share so far some of the best part of it...

" Your wounds can be turned into your wisdom. Your stumbling blocks can become your stepping stones if you choose. Do not miss the remarkable opportunity that adversity and even tragedy presents. Your life can be made even better by the things that break your heart."

" Growth sometimes comes in difficult ways. But growth is always good. If you could look down at your life from a 50,000- foot perspective, you would see that everything that's happening is very beautiful. Priceless, actually."

" Immediately before a great victory, one will often experience a stunning defeat. The key is to maintain your focus and keep on believing. Don't give up."

" There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self-mastery. From struggle comes strength. Even pain can be wonderful teacher."

Enjoy the life!

On going life.....!

I am really happy that after a long days I again started reading this book: "Goals - How to Get Everything You Want-Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible"; I downloaded this at the beginning of this month but couldn't manage to finish it. This month is about to end and when I look back, it seems like a month full of dissatisfaction and discomfort. Actually today I learn if there is no one or nothing to motivate myself, only I, myself can motivate me. I have to be come and cool. I have to get back myself. It wasn't me whom i was talking with, watching everyday in my room's mirror. Thanks to Allah, at least I realize the things.

This book reminds me to forbid three things which are :

1. Not to blame others.
2.Always admit own responsibility.
3.No more excuses.

I have to take charges in my life.

Setting my goals..................

It is very important to set goals in life. I have only 2 goals right now to achieve in this upcoming 15 days. Some books can really change a person's life. I recently talk with one of my dear one, who was really frustrated about the life; Only spending 2 hours and motivating for setting goals, can help some one to being charged and positive about life! Wow.. amazing....I really enjoyed that transformation. Today, I am really missing my friends and some of my colleagues
